Andrew’s facilitation style is inclusive, transparent, and very down to earth. We thoroughly enjoyed our team retreat and strategic planning workshop.

FACILITATOR

Our Services: Facilitation

We know from experience working with First Nations groups that facilitation can enable people to reach common goals by:

  • Focusing participants’ energy so people work together more effectively
  • Encouraging creative thinking and problem solving
  • Building support for group decisions because everyone has a chance to contribute
  • Producing results that surpass individual efforts

Learning new knowledge and skills can improve performance, increase efficiency and productivity, promote job satisfaction, help with recruiting and retention, and impact your bottom line.

My philosophy for First Nations Facilitating

In any tough meeting, there is a win-win solution! As facilitator, the trick is to create a climate of collaboration with all parties, even those who are seemingly in opposition to one another. Here are some guiding principles:

  • Understand and focus on participant interests, not positions
  • Collaborate first, then compromise
  • Think outside the box: that’s where the best solutions are in tough situations
  • Focus on specific measureable outcomes
  • Whatever is agreed to, put it in writing

We can help your group learn to cooperate, move forward on important issues, clarify outcomes, and collaborate to achieve shared goals, with facilitation for:

  • Leadership Initiatives – Strategic Planning, Team Development, Change Management, Board Retreats, Policy Development, Consultation Processes, Group Problem Solving
  • Effective Meetings – Board, Council, Committee, Community, Annual/Special General Meetings

Next Steps

  • Call or email to tell me about your facilitation needs

ANDREW'S APPROACH TO FACILITATING

  • I will work with you to develop an agenda for our session.
  • We may conduct a survey to include participants' input in the agenda and get a sense of the climate for our meeting.
  • Meeting organizers/contacts will sign off on a draft agenda at least one week before our session.
  • I’ll prepare for the session and facilitate the meeting at your location.
  • I’ll draft a brief report that summarizes what we covered and the decisions made at the meeting.
